Problem with URL Rewrite

I have installed the Customer Portal to a Microsoft CRM 4.0 CRM VPC. I have used the websitecopy utility to copy up the default customerportal.xml file fine, and have specified Integrated authentication in the web.config.  I also followed the article to remove the Live Authenication for a demo image that doesn't have internet access. I launch the website, http://cp, and the first page loads fine. All seems well until...

When i try to click the login link, i get a 404 error. If i try to click any of the links on the home page, i get the same 404 error.  Best i can tell, the problem is occuring with the url rewrite.  If i try to access a page directly, like http://cp/pages/login.aspx, i get a Page Not Found in both the body of the page and the breadcrumb(Home > Page Not Found). I've tried a few trace tools to see if i can find where the error is occuring, but with no luck.

There is one missing piece of information in the installation guide that is required for setting up on Windows 2003 / IIS 6.  Using IIS Manager, go to the properties of your website and flip to the custom errors tab.  Edit the 404 error and change it to URL = /default.aspx.  This is necessary for IIS 6 to handle the custom urls and trigger the url rewriting.  This is not necessary for IIS 7+ as this setting is taken from the web.config without further IIS configuration required.

Thanks for that.  It did the trick.
