Can't view or create cases

I saw all the case issues and their resolution and I followed all their instruction of adding a "Case Access permission" and filled in account and contact, scope = to account and checked create, delete, read, write.

When I log on I could search the knowledge bases but when I hit cases I don't see any cases nor the create case link, what else should I be trying?

One thing that make my enviornment different, I have the portal in a DMZ and had to do add a few lines to my web.config to make it access it correctly, but once I get in, I should be in correct?

Okay, this was realy strange.  I came in this morning and everything is working??? Is this a cacheing issue?
